Sydney to Hobart Celebrations

Thursday 5th September 2019

Arundells, 59 The Close, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP1 2EN

Hosted by The Friends of Arundells

In 1969 Edward Heath sailed Morning Cloud, a SS 34, over the line at Battery Point, Hobart, Tasmania to win the famous Sydney to Hobart Race.

This was an epic achievement (and a first) for Ted Heath. The victory spurred him on to more glorious racing achievements  in four subsequent, and larger, racing yachts - all named Morning Cloud.

A celebration to commemorate this remarkable feat will take place on Thursday 5th September in the garden of his beloved Arundells.

A chance to watch the video of Ted crossing the line.

After which a tour of the gardens taking in the bow section of Morning Cloud 3 and a chance to chat with former members of Morning Cloud crew.

An informal tour of the house to view and appreciate the sailing memorabilia and Sir Edward’s art collection is also included in the ticket fee of £40.00 per head
